Are you ready to graduate? Completion Checklist

Frequently Asked Questions

This Fall 2021, Wake Tech will hold a modified graduation. We will have a scaled down version of an in-person ceremony in addition to a virtual graduation ceremony due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. The college is planning a pre-recorded event, complete with graduate photos and video speeches on Saturday, December 11.

Fall commencement ceremonies will be held in Building K (the gymnasium) on Scott Northern Wake Campus. Fall ceremonies are for fall graduates. Each ceremony will be available to view via live stream on the Wake Tech website! Visit graduation.waketech.edu to watch the ceremonies. Virtual graduation slide options will also be made available for students that choose not to attend the in-person ceremony.

The event begins with an in-person “walk across the stage” opportunity, which will allow graduates to have their name called as they cross the stage and have their photo taken with Dr. Ralls. Unlike a traditional ceremony, guests will not be allowed, and graduates will leave after their names are called. Graduation times will be determined based on the graduate’s division. The celebration will be available on livestream for families and friends of graduates to be a part of their graduates’ special day!

*Regalia will be required for any graduate that would like to participate in the “walk across the stage” ceremony. Graduates will be required to wear a mask for the duration of the event. The deadline for completing the graduation application and ordering regalia (cap and gown) is Friday, October 1, 2021 at 11:59 PM. Students who miss the deadline may participate in the next semester’s commencement ceremony provided they meet the posted deadlines.

*Graduates attending the in-person ceremony will be required to wear a face mask that covers their nose and their mouth for the duration of the event.

Wake Tech is closely monitoring the rise in COVID-19 Delta variant cases and will make necessary adjustments to our fall 2021 graduation ceremony based on current CDC, state and federal guidance. We ask that fall 2021 graduates closely monitor our Wake Tech webpages, social media accounts, and email correspondence for updates and additional information. We are in the process of finalizing all graduation decisions, and we will provide additional information as it is available.
