Wake Tech closed for Thanksgiving

Wake Tech is closed Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday. Prospective students can still apply online, and current students can register for Spring semester classes. All classes will resume and offices will reopen on Monday morning.

The Tutoring and Learning Center (TLC) offers Wake Tech students free tutoring and learning support for their classes. The TLC's mission is to help students understand what they are learning in class, develop the skills they need to be successful in college and the workplace and empower them to be independent learners.

Research shows that students who take advantage of tutoring support tend to perform better on tests and in their classes overall. Visiting the TLC also offers the following benefits:

  • Personalized attention – you get the help you need.
  • Confidence – you see that you can make progress.
  • Motivation – you feel good about learning and have the energy to do more.
  • Growth mindset – you find that, with hard work and learning from mistakes, you can improve.
  • Connection – you know you have a team behind you, working with you to succeed.

Whether you need support adjusting to the fast pace of college classes, have a few skills to work on to be college-ready, want to get ahead in your course work or have questions you need answered before you can continue an assignment, the TLC can handle it.

Tutoring sessions are offered on campus and online by faculty teaching the classes or by professional faculty tutors. Students may work one-on-one with a tutor, join a small group session or sign up for a workshop review session. Assistance is available in eight areas:
