Virtual and in-person class presentations about Care Center services
are available by appointment only.
Wake Tech is piloting a self-service resource station at Perry Health Sciences Campus. The Care Box, located in Building A, Room 155, provides convenient access to essential items like orders from The Nest food pantry, toiletries and hygiene items. Students can even order a laptop computer, a gas card or other type of assistance provided by the Care Center.
Students must first apply for Care Center assistance. Once approved, their requested items are placed in a section of the Care Box, and an access code is emailed to them. They don't have to schedule an appointment or wait for assistance from Care Center staff.
The pilot program is a direct response to the growing demand for resources that support students' well-being. By offering a self-service option, the Care Center is reducing barriers to essential support, making it easier for students to get what they need when they need it. Although the Care Box is located at Perry Health Sciences Campus, any Wake Tech student with a smartphone can use it. Students who don't have a smartphone need to go to a Care Center location for assistance.
