Wake Tech consistently ranks as one of the best community colleges in the U.S. for online instruction, and the eLearning Support and Instructional Design Department (eLSID) is a major reason for that distinction.
eLSID provides professional development and training for faculty who want to teach courses online. Faculty are required to complete a 30-hour online certification program, which eLSID facilitates, before they can teach online.
The department also develops and facilitates training sessions focused on online best practices, digital accessibility and instructional technologies.
All courses offered by eLSID require registration. The course schedule is updated before the start of each semester. Simply click on "eLearning Support" in the left-hand menu of the registration tool to see the list of available courses.
The eLSID team also works with individual departments to provide custom services that are discipline-specific and support their online programs. Let's work together to research and identify pedagogical and technological solutions to support your department's online teaching goals.
