From one hour to 10 weeks, the Small Business Center offers training to help you start and build your business.
Assess your ability as an entrepreneur and the feasibility of your business or idea. Learn how your military experience will help you as an entrepreneur. Learn how to develop a complete business plan for starting and running your new or existing business over the course of eight three hour classroom sessions. Be guided through a thorough thought process on every element of your business, from basic description and mission statement to financials and sales forecasting. Understand all resources available to help veterans develop and run successful businesses. Then complete the homework to finish the class with the first draft of a comprehensive business plan. Class exercises are performed online and all supporting material and resources are available for download.

Are you interested in starting a food truck business? This course will show you how to be a part of the hottest dining trend around! You’ll find out what’s required to operate a mobile food unit safely and legally – licenses and permits; zoning laws; federal, state, and local regulations; health and safety concerns; taxes; and more. The course also includes business essentials such as creating a business plan, securing a business loan, budgeting, and costing. At the end of the course you’ll take the ServSafe Manager Certification Exam, which is mandatory for food truck operators.

Kauffman FastTrac® teaches aspiring, early-stage entrepreneurs how to launch their businesses. Students will have access to content, templates, and tools as they progress through five modules that mirror the entrepreneurial journey. By the end of the course, you will have developed and refined your entrepreneurial vision into a thoroughly researched and tested business plan. In addition, there will be training and preparation for pitching in a pitch competition as well as 2 additional weeks of QuickBooks training. The class will be taught asynchronously over the course of 12 weeks and graded in a pass/fail manner.
