The Business Intelligence Certificate provides students a foundation in business intelligence and business analytics principles and applications.
Students learn how to use graphical tools to communicate insights about data, use statistical programming tools to conduct descriptive analytics, process data and generate reports that support business decision-making.
The certificate includes the first four Business Analytics courses: BAS-120, BAS-121, BAS-220 and BAS-150, for a total of 12 credits. Credits earned in the program may be transferred toward an AAS degree in Business Analytics.
Courses are offered in online and a mix of online and in-person formats.
After students complete BAS-150 and BAS-220, they will receive a Wake Tech SAS University Badge that they can display on LinkedIn. They also may sit for the SAS Base Programming Specialist certification exam.
Students may complete the certificate under an accelerated program model that allows them to finish courses in an eight-week format. The accelerated program is recommended for individuals who have previous higher education experience, have completed the necessary prerequisites and can commit the time to succeed in a fast-paced learning environment. Students are strongly encouraged to speak to a faculty advisor or the program director before registering for this option.
