Veteran Zones and Green Zones
Veterans Zones are spaces for Wake Tech's student veterans and their family members to connect in a safe environment and interact in a unique academic and social setting. A variety of services are available, including a computer lab and activity center, as are representatives from Veterans Upward Bound, NC Serves and Student Veterans of America.
Wake Tech is proud to serve veterans and thankful for their many sacrifices.

Green Zones
A green zone is a location recognized by veterans as a safe place. The goal of the Green Zone program is to provide a safe space for student veterans, whether on campus or online.
Wake Tech offers a training program for staff and faculty to become Green Zone advocates.

Graduates of the Green Zone training program display the program logo in their offices or on their syllabi.
Green Zone advocates are staff and faculty who:
- Are aware of the issues and concerns faced by student veterans and their families
- Are available to listen and assist student veterans and their families
- Can provide a sympathetic ear
- Can refer to appropriate services as needed
Green Zone advocates are a resource for student veterans and are not expected to be experts or be able to solve all problems.
