How long does it take to process benefits?

If you have never used your VA benefits before or if you have had a lapse in benefits, you can expect processing to take six to eight weeks.

After submitting paperwork to receive veterans benefits, how long until I receive an award letter?

Once the school submits your GI Bill® application to the Regional Processing Office, there usually is a 30- to 90-day waiting period. Once your application has been processed, you will receive an award letter.

I haven’t received any money. What's taking so long?

There are several possible reasons why your check has been delayed. It may be due to heavy workload at the regional VA office or because you've made changes to your registration or program of study.

Must I pursue a degree to receive VA benefits?

Yes, in order to receive benefits at Wake Tech, you must be pursuing a degree.
