With a growing number of classes meeting virtually at least some of the time, if not entirely online, every Wake Tech student needs a computer more than ever. The Care Center can provide laptops to qualified students who don't have one so they can attend classes virtually, complete their assignments and access college services online.
Wake Tech used pandemic relief money to purchase the Lenovo ThinkPads, which run on a Windows 10 operating system, have 8 GB of memory and a 14-inch screen. Refurbished laptops from various brands are also available.

Library Services also has laptops available to loan out to enrolled students who do not qualify to receive a laptop otherwise. Similarly, the library can loan wireless hotspots to enrolled students who do not have reliable internet access to complete their coursework.
The libraries on Southern Wake and Scott Northern Wake campuses also have self-service kiosks where students can check out a laptop for three hours at a time, using a Wake Tech ID. Each kiosk has 12 laptops for use on campus only.
