The Industrial Wiring Certificate focuses on the National Electrical Code as is applies to industrial installations, including hazardous locations and installing rigid conduit.
Students will also work with transformers and programmable logic controllers used in the industry as part of this certificate, which is the third tier in available wiring certificates.
Students must complete the Commercial Wiring Certificate before starting the Industrial Wiring Certificate program.
Overall, the Electrical Systems Technology program provides training for individuals interested in installing and maintaining electrical systems in residential, commercial and industrial facilities.
The curriculum is based on the assumption that a student has no prior knowledge or experience in electricity or electronics. Faculty are licensed electricians and bring a diverse set of field experiences to the classroom, adding to the educational experience for students.
