Water Main Break on Southern Wake Campus

Emergency repairs to a leaking underground water pipe will begin Tuesday evening, September 22, 2026. Tuesday classes will continue as scheduled, but repairs may require Southern Wake Campus to close on Wednesday, September 23, 2026.

Wake Tech will send an update through WARN by 11 p.m. Tuesday and, if needed, another by 6 a.m. Wednesday.

Plumbing AHR Certificate

Wake Tech Course ID: C35300G

NOTE: This program is being terminated and is not accepting new students. Advisors will work with current students to finish their certificates by August 2027.

The Plumbing AHR Certificate is designed to give individuals the opportunity to acquire basic skills in plumbing, air conditioning, heating and refrigeration.

Course topics include HVACR electricity, HVACR maintenance, plumbing systems and refrigeration certification.

Completion of this certificate will provide a better understanding and knowledge to assist with the installation and repairs of HVACR and plumbing systems in residential and small commercial buildings.

Graduates should qualify for employment at parts supply houses and entry-level positions with maintenance companies and plumbing contractors to assist with various HVACR and plumbing applications.
