CCP Eligibility Standards

To be eligible for a Career and Technical Education pathway, a high school junior or senior must meet one the following conditions:

  • Has an unweighted, cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher on high school courses
  • Demonstrates college readiness in English, reading and mathematics on an assessment (see table below)
  • Has the recommendation of the high school principal or designee and a memo detailing his or her rationale in place of the GPA requirement

To be eligible for a College Transfer pathway, a high school junior or senior must meet one of the following conditions:

  • Has an unweighted, cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher on high school courses OR
  • Demonstrates college readiness in English, reading and mathematics on an assessment (see table below)

NOTE: Regardless of pathway, all students must meet course prerequisites before registration.

To remain in the CCP program, a student must meet the following requirements:

  • Continues to progress toward high school graduation
  • Maintains a GPA of 2.0 or higher in college coursework after completing two courses

To be eligible for a Career and Technical Education pathway, a high school freshman or sophomore must meet the following conditions:

  • Has the recommendation of the school principal or designee, along with a memo detailing his or her rationale for recommendation
     
  • Demonstrates college readiness in English, reading and mathematics on an approved assessment (see table below) or passed Math 1 with a grade of "C" or better, an end-of-course score of 3, 4 or 5 for Math I and an end-of-grade score of 3, 4 or 5 for eighth-grade ELA assessment

NOTE: Eligible ninth- and 10th-grade CTE students may enroll in pathways without Universal General Education Transfer Component courses in the following pathways:

Some CTE pathways require testing to be eligible for courses within the pathways. CCP staff will work closely with ninth- and 10th-grade students to determine eligibility.

 

To be eligible for a College Transfer pathway, a high school freshman or sophomore must meet all of the following conditions:

  • Be identified as gifted by local AIG plan in English/reading and math or aptitude and achievement test scores for English, reading and math (92nd to 99th percentiles) in the Mental Measurements Yearbook, published by the Buros Institute of Mental Measurements
  • Demonstrate college readiness in English, reading and math on an approved assessment (see table below)
  • Receive a recommendation verifying maturity to enroll from a high school principal or equivalent administrator via memo
  • Receive written consent of the student's parent or guardian via memo
  • Receive mandatory academic advising prior to course registration
