The Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program prepares students to perform clinical laboratory procedures in chemistry, hematology, microbiology and immunohematology that may be used to maintain health and to diagnose and treat disease. Coursework emphasizes mathematical and scientific concepts related to specimen collection, laboratory testing and procedures, quality assurance and reporting/recording and interpreting findings involving tissue, blood and body fluids.
Graduates may be eligible to take examinations given by the Board of Certification of the American Society for Clinical Pathology. Employment opportunities include laboratories in hospitals, medical offices, industry and research facilities.

The program-specific selection procedure for MLT is a two-part process using both a first-come, first-served process and general education class completion ranking. Applicants with the most general education courses completed with a "C" or better grade and with the earliest program application submission date will be selected. The program application deadline is May 15 each year.
Completed applications should be emailed to [email protected].
Once admitted into the MLT classes, students are required to attend a mandatory departmental orientation and complete all clinical site requirements.
