Students enrolled in specific Health Sciences programs can work with department faculty for additional practice with laboratory skills. Health Sciences tutoring is offered on Perry Health Sciences Campus in the following programs:
Specific hours for the in-person tutoring are determined by each program. Students must make appointments with faculty for specific one-on-one instruction and remediation.
Nursing skills practice also is available during open lab time. Nursing students also should consider joining or forming a study group. Study group and peer tutor guidelines are available on the Nursing News Blackboard site.
In-person and online tutoring services for Nursing and Medical Assisting classes are available in the Science Tutoring and Learning Center (TLC) on Perry Health Sciences Campus. Students may book an appointment or walk in to see if a tutor is available.
The TLC also offers NUR Ongoing Ways of Learning (OWL) sessions in Building A on the Perry Health Sciences Campus to support Nursing and Practical Nursing students' understanding of theory and content. Students do not have to book an appointment for this walk-in service. Students may call the TLC or ask their faculty for the current semester schedule for OWL sessions.
