Career Services for Community
Wake Tech Career Services offers an array of workshops and short courses that provide employability skills training and assistance for anyone trying to find a job, transition back into the workforce or working to redefine their professional niche in today's global market. The courses are designed to address the current needs and trends of the complex and constantly changing workforce with subjects such as:
- Career exploration
- Resume and cover letter writing
- Interview skill-building
- LinkedIn assistance
- Job search strategies
The courses are often free, as the fees are waived for anyone who is unemployed, underemployed, facing a layoff, eligible for the federal Earned Income Tax Credit or earning wages at or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines.
Other services
The National Career Readiness Certificate confirms workplace competency skills in the core areas of applied math, graphic literacy and workplace documents.
Professionals from recruitment firms, corporations and the local community provide lectures and presentations on job search strategies and tips, as well as networking activities. Career advising is available for free for attendees.
