College Closed Friday

Due to icy roads, all Wake Tech campuses remain closed Friday. In-person classes are canceled, but online classes continue as scheduled. Students can still register for eight-week courses, and prospective students can apply online. Many Wake Tech services are available virtually. Employees who can work remotely should do so.

Certificate Programs

  • The Basic Facilities Technology I Certificate is designed for individuals wishing to learn about air conditioning, heating, and electrical wiring. Graduates should qualify for entry-level positions in residential facility maintenance.

  • The Basic Facilities Technology II Certificate is designed for individuals seeking more knowledge of electrical wiring, print reading and workplace safety.

  • The Electrical Systems Certificate is designed for individuals wishing to advance their knowledge of electrical wiring. Course work includes residential wiring, commercial wiring and the National Electric Code.

  • The HVACR Certificate is designed for individuals wishing to advance their knowledge of air conditioning-refrigeration-heating operation and maintenance. Course work includes electricity, heating and cooling technology, maintenance and print reading.
