Due to the forecast of inclement weather, all Wake Tech campuses closed at 2 p.m. Friday and will be closed all day Saturday. In-person classes are canceled, but online classes continue as scheduled. Students needing assistance can check out the Virtual Support Center.
The Facility Maintenance Technology Degree curriculum prepares individuals to repair and maintain electrical and mechanical systems in commercial and industrial institutions. Emphasis is placed on multi-disciplined systems maintenance, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.
Included in the program are courses in air conditioning, heating and refrigeration; electrical; building automation; safety; print reading; and industrial data communications.
Graduates should qualify for entry-level positions related to facility operation and maintenance that require a broad range of competencies.
