Dental Hygiene Program Costs

Tuition figures shown are for in-state residents, assuming that all credit hours are needed, including non-DEN courses. The in-state rate for students taking fewer than 16 credit hours in the Fall or Spring semester or fewer than nine hours in the Summer term is $76 per credit hour.
Tuition for out-of-state residents is $4,288 per term in the Fall and Spring semesters and $2,412 for the Summer term. Students taking fewer than 16 credit hours in the Fall or Spring semester or fewer than nine hours in the Summer term pay $268 per credit hour.

NOTE: Board exam and licensure fees are determined by the respective board agencies and are subject to change. North Carolina State Board of Dental Examiners and national board fees listed are for 2022, but ADEX fees are for 2023.
National board fees are normally due in February, CDCA-WREB-CITA fees are due 30 days ahead of the scheduled exam and licensure fees are due 90 days ahead of the date you wish to be licensed.
The facility use fee for the CITA Exam is determined by the host site. The fees listed were for spring 2022 exams at UNC-Chapel Hill and Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College.
