College Closed Wednesday
Due to the forecast of inclement weather, all Wake Tech campuses will be closed Wednesday. In-person classes are canceled, but online classes continue as scheduled. Students can still register for eight-week courses, and prospective students can apply online. Many Wake Tech services are available virtually. Employees who can work remotely should do so.

The Bioanalytical Lab Technology curriculum is designed to meet the increasing demands for skilled laboratory technicians in various fields of biological and chemical technology.
Coursework, most of which is hands-on, emphasizes the following topics:
- Fermentation technology
- Cell culturing
- Protein purification
- Biologic synthesis
- Assaying and testing
- Quality control
- Industrial microbiology
- Bioprocessing
- Genetic technology
- Laboratory and hazardous materials safety
- Computer applications
The Biotechnician Level I and Agricultural Biotechnology certificates are part of the Bioanalytical Lab Technology track.
Graduates should be qualified for employment in various biotechnology-related laboratory and manufacturing areas, including laboratory and instrumentation, research and development, quality control and quality assurance.
