Due to the forecast of inclement weather, all Wake Tech campuses closed at 2 p.m. Friday and will be closed all day Saturday. In-person classes are canceled, but online classes continue as scheduled. Students needing assistance can check out the Virtual Support Center.
The Associate in Science in Teacher Preparation (ASTP) is a university transfer degree for students interested in becoming licensed elementary, middle, high school or special education teachers. The program is tailored for individuals with an interest in teaching STEM subjects: science, technology, engineering and math.
Students take 60 credit hours of college transfer courses. That gives them the opportunity to transfer as a junior to any of 15 University of North Carolina System institutions or a number of North Carolina private colleges and universities. Students, of course, must meet admission requirements at these schools.
