Wake Tech Names New “Idol”
Jasmine Axelrod! The first-year Wake Tech student, from Raleigh, took home the title in the second annual Wake Tech Idol competition tonight. Axelrod performed “Work Song,” by Hozier, competing against nine other finalists to win a $1,000 scholarship.

Brother and Sister Are Named "Stem Stars"
Imagine using the sun to water your garden – Wake Tech students Monique and Mitchell LaValley are sure it can be done! The brother and sister have created a green alternative to electric generators: a solar-powered Stirling Engine that could be attached to a rain barrel for outdoor watering.

Wake Tech President Gets a New “Do” To Support Student Success
“Just a trim!” That’s what Wake Tech President Dr. Stephen Scott got today, when he joined members of the Student Government Association getting haircuts in the college Cosmetology Salon. The event, organized by SGA President Rye Robinson, was intended to highlight cosmetology students’ need for “real” clients as they complete degree programs.
