Learn the basics of becoming a bartender, with emphasis on North Carolina liquor laws, alcohol responsibilities, alcohol awareness and bar setup. Hands-on instructions will be provided in making drinks and drink recipes, along with online learning about beverages.
Upon completion, you will be TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) and Host U certified, two credentials recognized by the industry.

Upon successfully completion of the course, students will learn the effects of alcohol and how to detect visible intoxication in customers by observation and signs, the legal responsibilities as a server of alcohol as well as an owner of an establishment, strategies for preventing alcohol-related problems and techniques for intervening successfully with an intoxicated guest. Students will have to take the T.I.P.S. exam at the end of the course.
