College Closed Monday Because of Winter Storm

Due to inclement weather, all Wake Tech campuses will be closed Monday, January 26, 2026. Students taking in-person classes should check with their instructors for more information. Online classes will continue as scheduled. Many Wake Tech services, including Admissions and Academic Advising, are available virtually at virtualsupport.waketech.edu. Wake Tech employees who can work remotely should do so.

Textbooks and materials
Eagle Advantage is Wake Tech's textbook program for students. It ensures all required printed textbooks are bundled and ready for pickup or delivery on or before the first day of class and any digital course materials are available in Blackboard on the first day.

Students are automatically enrolled in Eagle Advantage at registration, and their Wake Tech account is charged $24 per credit hour as a Textbook Access Fee. Use the "View Materials / Opt Out-Opt In" button to view the materials provided by Eagle Advantage for your classes.

If you choose to opt out of the program and purchase course materials on your own, you must do so within a specified window each semester. Your opt-out decision covers all courses for that semester.

Travel to clinical sites
Medical Assisting clinical sites are located throughout the Triangle region (Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill), as well as in Johnston County. Students are responsible for providing transportation to their assigned clinical site, which could be up to 35 miles from the Perry Health Sciences Campus. Students are also responsible for any fees for parking at a clinical site. The program cannot accommodate special requests for clinical site placement.
