About the Program

The Healthcare Simulation Technology program is an exciting new executive-style degree offered by Wake Tech and is the only program of its kind in the state of North Carolina. The Healthcare Simulation Technology program will prepare students by synthesizing psychological, environmental, and equipment fidelity to produce interdisciplinary simulation with appropriate assessment and debriefing activities. Students will also be prepared for simulation center management and oversight positions available in a range of healthcare programs and hospitals. Wake Tech’s program is unique in that it is the only online undergraduate healthcare simulation program in the country. This program enrolls once annually in the fall semester.

Coursework is 100% online with two, executive-style week-long campus visits in the fall semesters of each year, making the program accessible for working adults and easy to complete over 5 semesters. The curriculum in the Healthcare Simulation Technology degree program is aligned with the Society for Simulation in Healthcare’s Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator® (CHSE) exam, while the curriculum in the certificate program is aligned with the Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist® (CHSOS) exam. Industry certifications, such as these assist students in marketability and employability.
