Wake Tech Launches Interactive System to Connect Grads with Jobs

RALEIGH, N.C. (July 18, 2011) - Wake Technical Community College now offers a powerful new resource for helping students and alumni find employment. Wake Tech has partnered with College Central Network (CCN) to offer a state-of-the-art recruiting tool that combines an interactive online system for writing resumes and creating portfolios with a robust job search system. This system provides access to jobs posted with Wake Tech Community College, jobs posted with a consortium of North Carolina community colleges, and jobs and internships posted nationwide. It also allows students, graduates, and alumni of Wake Tech's curriculum education programs to make their resumes available to employers across North Carolina. Employers across the state benefit as well: they can post job openings at no cost and reach potential employees at multiple colleges all at once.

"We're very excited to offer this system," says Deb Hadley, Director of Job Placement and Cooperative Education. "It allows Wake Tech to develop relationships with new employers and strengthen our relationship with employers who currently recruit through our college while providing students and alumni with the tool they need to conduct a successful job search. In short, it gives us the opportunity to help great employees find great jobs!"

The other members of the consortium are Cleveland Community College, College of the Albemarle, Guilford Technical Community College, Isothermal Community College, Rowan-Cabarrus Community College, Sandhills Community College, Southeastern Community College, Vance-Granville Community College, Southeastern Community College and Wilkes Community College. In addition to connecting students and graduates with potential employers, College Central Network also provides useful information on job search techniques and strategies.
