Wake Tech Employee Honored by Apex High School
RALEIGH, N.C. (August 25, 2011) - Chris Wheeler, Director of Network Services in Wake Tech's Information Technology Services Division, has been recognized for his work as a member of the Academy of Information Technology (AOIT) Advisory Board at Apex High School. With the support of the National Academy Foundation (NAF), AOIT partners educators and business people to help introduce students to the world of business. Wheeler has served on the Advisory Board for three years. He helps guide the program and supervises students who intern at Wake Tech. The National Academy Foundation and The Apex High School Academy of Information Technology recognized Wheeler with a Certificate of Appreciation.
"Chris Wheeler is an exemplary employee," says Darryl McGraw, Chief Information Officer at Wake Tech. "His involvement with the Academy of Information Technology is an example of Wake Tech's commitment to the community."
Wheeler joined Wake Tech in 1996. He is in charge of the technical infrastructure that is used to provide network computing, telephone service, digital signage, and procurement.
Wheeler and his family live in Cary.
