Representatives from IBM will present "A Day in the Life of an IBM Software Developer"
Thursday, November 7th, 2024, 11:30am-1pm, in-person on Wake Tech's RTP Wake Campus, Building RT2, Room 151.
The presentation will begin with a demo of the Open Liberty Space Rover IOT interactive game! Then, several IBMer's will share their experiences with working at IBM and walk through a lab that teaches students how to create a RESTful web service with JSON-B, Jakarta Restful Web Services, and Open Liberty.
Other topics will include:
· How several representatives got started working at IBM.
· The day to day activities for the developer role.
· The tools used to get the job done.
· The fun things they enjoy about their jobs.
· The technologies that are used by the products they develop (Java, Cloud, Docker, Kubernetes, Micro Profile, etc).
· The evolution of IBM's product (Open Liberty) as the computing world has changed over time.
