This two-day workshop provides hands-on experience in writing and fine-tuning SQL queries, through a series of exercises and demonstrations. Students will become proficient in using SQL to prepare and clean data for data visualization software. Emphasis will be placed on understanding data models, especially Entity-Relationship diagrams, and strategies for navigating database schemas without quality supporting documentation. In addition to the core concepts of programming in SQL, students will learn how to best utilize sub-queries and validate queries for accuracy. The workshop includes hands-on activities.
