This course, the only national, comprehensive safety course for EMS practitioners, teaches participants how to protect themselves and their patients while on the job. It helps build risk assessment and decision-making skills, promotes a culture of safety, and helps reduce on-the-job injuries and fatalities. The interactive format includes real-life case studies and a forum for sharing personal experiences. Participants learn strategies they can apply in the field and how to strengthen their own resilience to combat stress. The course covers crew resource management, emergency vehicle operation, multi-agency pre-planning, staging at roadside incidents, lifting and moving, and many other aspects of readiness for the challenges and hazards of working in the field.
