BioNetwork Capstone Center

In addition to these programs, the Biotechnologies Division includes work done at the BioNetwork Capstone Center, located in the Golden LEAF Biomanufacturing Training and Education Center on North Carolina State University's Centennial Campus in Raleigh

BioNetwork is an initiative of the North Carolina Community College System designed to promote the growth of life science industries, education and employment opportunities statewide. The Capstone Center has a certified cleanroom suite and state-of-the-art laboratories, and courses are led by faculty with industry expertise, allowing a unique and exceptional training opportunity.  Experientially oriented courses provide an array of critical hands-on experiences and problem-solving skills necessary for working in a cGMP-focused environment.

RTP Bio

Located on Wake Tech's RTP Campus, RTP Bio is a unique collaboration with Durham Tech. It offers increased biotechnology career opportunities for students and graduates of both institutions and strengthens the talent pipeline for life science companies in the Triangle region.

The RTP Bio program offers transfer opportunities between the two colleges, custom training, apprenticeship programs and pathways for high school students.

Professional licensure

Wake Tech academic programs (credit and non-credit) that are designed to lead to professional licenses are tied to North Carolina or national certifications. If you intend to pursue professional licenses outside North Carolina once you have completed your academic program at Wake Tech, please refer to the Professional Licensure section of the college's distance education authorization page for additional information.
