Wake Tech To Serve Veterans With Grant From Walmart Foundation

Wake Tech Community College is pleased to have a new avenue for helping military veterans find employment and career advancement opportunities. The college will receive $10,000 – part of a grant from the Walmart Foundation – to support vocational education for veterans.

WCPSS Students Tour Technical Programs at Wake Tech

Wake Tech hosted about 100 Wake County high school students on Thursday, October 31, as they toured  technical programs that will be offered in the new Career and Technical High School in South Raleigh. Students got a first-hand look at programs such as Cosmetology, Biopharmaceutical Technology, Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning, Welding, and Simulation and Game Development.

Wake Tech welcomed hundreds of industry professionals to the college tonight to celebrate their service at the annual Advisory Committee dinner. It was a celebration of the past and a look toward the future at Wake Tech’s Main Campus today. The college held the culmination of its year-long 50th anniversary commemoration with “The Main Event – Party with a Purpose.” Special guests included North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory and Secretary of Commerce Sharon Decker.

Wake Tech’s Fine Arts Department announces its 2013-2014 Concert Series. The public is invited to the inaugural performance which takes place Saturday, October 12th on the Northern Wake Campus. The Atomic Rhythm All-Stars will be on stage with an authentic recreation of the jazz sounds of the 1920’s and 30’s.
