Pathways Success Scholars

Part of Wake Tech's commitment to student success, the Pathways Success Scholars Mentorship Program aims to do the following:

• Enhance academic and social experiences through increased use of campus resources
• Foster collaboration between students and institutional departments

The program's First in Flight initiative provides a strong support network to help first-generation students succeed and persist in their academic journey.

First-gen students are the first in their immediate family to attend college and pursue a bachelor's degree. As a result, the family has limited experience navigating college systems and the student is often balancing academic, financial and family responsibilities. These students often face unique challenges, but with the right support, they can thrive.

First in Flight provides the following benefits:

• Success coaching tailored to individual goals
• Mentorship from peers, faculty and professionals
• Events and community-building initiatives focused on first-gen students
• Networking
