Dental Assisting Competitive Admission Procedure
In order to select applicants for programs with limited clinical slots, a competitive admissions procedure with a point system, not a waiting list, will be used. This procedure will be used when there are more applicants who have met the minimum admissions requirements and have submitted their checklist than we have available clinical spaces. Those applicants with the highest number of points will be selected for the available clinical slots.
Applicants for the Dental Assisting program will be awarded points for the general education courses (ENG 111, COM 120, PSY 118, and BIO 106) that are part of the curriculum and have been completed. The number of points awarded will be based on the applicant's grade and the credit hours of the course.
The competitive process and ranking procedures are explained in more detail at the mandatory information session.
