NOTE: This program is being terminated and isn't accepting new students. A non-degree Pharmacy Technician Training program is available for interested individuals. Advisors will work with current Pharmacy Technology students to finish their diploma by May 2027.
The Pharmacy Technology Diploma prepares students to work as pharmacy technicians, who assist assist licensed pharmacists in providing customers prescription and over-the-counter medications, medical equipment and supplies and other health care products and services.
The curriculum includes classroom, laboratory and clinical components. Classroom instruction is coordinated with laboratory activities and clinical experiences to provide a broad knowledge of the following:
Graduates may be employed in hospitals, medical centers, private and chain pharmacies and specialty pharmacies, including medication compounding, long-term care medication therapy management and IV infusion pharmacies. Graduates should be prepared to take the national Certification Examination administered by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board.
