The Addiction and Recovery Studies Counseling Certificate is designed for individuals who already hold a bachelor's or master's degree in a human services-related discipline or currently work in addiction treatment settings and want to broaden their professional skill set.
The certificate does not require completion of field work hours, and it may assist students in meeting the educational requirements for certification and/or licensure from the North Carolina Addictions Specialist Professional Practice Board.
The certificate transfers into the Social & Human Services AAS degree program for students wishing to earn a two-year degree. Individuals who don't already hold a bachelor's or master's degree in a human services-related field are encouraged to consider the Addiction and Recovery Studies Intervention Certificate or the AAS programs.
