Wake Tech is closed December 24 through January 4 for winter break and will reopen January 5. Prospective students can still apply for enrollment online during the break, and continuing students can register for Spring semester classes, which start January 7.
The Construction Equipment Systems program provides students with the knowledge and skills to troubleshoot and repair dozers, scrapers, loaders and forklifts.
The core course work includes theory of operations, troubleshooting techniques and repair procedures for engines and electrical and hydraulics systems. Concentration courses include transmissions, brakes, undercarriage and equipment repair. Other related courses will be required.
Graduates should qualify for entry-level employment opportunities at businesses that repair construction equipment. Advancement depends on the amount of training completed, knowledge and ability levels, work performance and ethics.
