Program Planning GuideThe Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Technology Commercial Refrigeration Track curriculum provides the basic knowledge to develop skills necessary to work with commercial refrigeration systems. Topics include defrost methods, safety and operational control, proper control application, test instruments, simple control wiring, service, repair, and diagnostic procedures for commercial refrigeration systems and components, as well as refrigerant piping, recovery, leak testing, evacuation, charging, startup, and evaluation. AAS degree graduates should be able to assist in the start-up, preventive maintenance, service, repair, and/or installation of commercial refrigeration systems found in restaurants, convenience stores, supermarkets, and other commercial refrigeration applications.
