IT Company 'Takes Over' RTP Campus

MORRISVILLE, N.C. (November 13, 2024) – RapidScale, a Cox business company with an office in Raleigh that provides managed cloud services for businesses, "took over" Wake Tech's RTP Campus on Wednesday.

Representatives from RapidScale hosted a networking event for students. They held information sessions, reviewed resumes and spent time chatting with students one-on-one about the company and about potential careers in the information technology field. They even brought breakfast!

The RapidScale takeover event is a first of its kind at Wake Tech. The company wanted to make sure students know about the core IT solutions it provides and the jobs that are available. Wake Tech's Career Services office helped organize the event.

"RapidScale has been a valued partner over the past couple of years, and we're glad to welcome them to the RTP Campus for this takeover," said Dr. Keith Babuszczak, provost of IT programs. "We're excited to work with them as they look to hire a qualified and diverse workforce."

"At RapidScale we believe the future of technology is shaped by bright minds of today," said RapidScale President Duane Barnes. "By partnering with Wake Tech, we're not just recruiting talent, we're building the innovators and leaders who will drive the next generation of technology."

Wake Tech student Bradley Huntoon was eager to talk with RapidScale recruiters and discuss his resume. Huntoon, who is pursuing AAS degrees in Network Management and Cloud Infrastructure, was the first person in the door.

"What a great opportunity to network and make connections," said Huntoon. "I wanted to get my name out there for a possible job in the future."

The most recent NC TECH jobs report shows IT jobs in and around Raleigh have grown by 80% over the past year. Many of these roles are in the cybersecurity and cloud infrastructure spaces.

Wake Tech offers an array of Information and Digital Technology degree programs, as well as industry-recognized certifications that can prepare students for a new job in as little as four months.
