Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society Welcomes New Members

RALEIGH, N.C. (November 18, 2024) – Congratulations are in order for 89 students who have been inducted into Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), the international academic honor society for students at two-year colleges. Wake Tech's Beta Alpha Zeta chapter held its fall induction ceremony Monday on the Southern Wake Campus.

PTK offers opportunities for scholarship, leadership, service and fellowship for its members. Wake Tech's PTK chapter is a five-star chapter, the highest designation awarded based on campus and community engagement. The chapter is also celebrating its 30th anniversary. The first induction was held on December 4, 1994.

The ceremony featured Morrisville Town Councilman Steve Rao as guest speaker. He congratulated the inductees and encouraged them to be resilient and persevere as they pursue happiness and success in life.

"You're going to face many obstacles, but the only finish line that matters is a place where you can find yourself happy in life and in your career, where you're making a difference and you love what you do every day," Rao said.

Family members and friends proudly watched as inductees were presented with a white rose, symbolizing beauty, purity and intelligence.
