College Named to Newsweek's Top Online Colleges List for Second Year
RALEIGH, N.C. (March 7, 2023) – Wake Tech has been named to Newsweek's list of America's Top Online Colleges 2023. This marks the second year in a row Wake Tech received the prestigious ranking presented by Newsweek and Statista Inc., the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider.
Wake Tech ranked 111th among 200 higher education institutions across the nation recognized.
The America's Top Online Colleges 2023 highlight the nation's top colleges with online degrees based on an online survey from more than 9,000 respondents that participated in online college degree programs and/or general online learning courses in the United States. Respondents shared their experiences by rating the institutions on several criteria: organization and accessibility, support and service, cost of program, perceived organizational reputation, expected success and practical relevance of contents. Finally, respondents could indicate how satisfied they were with the organization and to what extent they would recommend it to others.
Wake Tech Online offers more than 100 fully online associate degree, diploma and certificate programs.
With a robust array of virtual resources and a comprehensive training program for online faculty and students, Wake Tech serves more online students than any community college in North Carolina.
In 2021-22, about 16,250 Wake Tech students took classes fully online, while more than 12,000 others took some classes online. Most Wake Tech degree students take at least one online class.
Wake Tech's EPIC (eLearning Preparedness Initiative across the College) provides students and faculty with specific training and tools needed to improve student performance and success in online courses. All full-time instructors have completed the EPIC 30 online instruction certification program.
