“It would have been impossible for me to get to campus for classes. Wake Tech’s online program was exactly what I needed!”

Job-hunting takes a lot of effort, but for Veronica Bowers the process is not nearly as daunting as it used to be. As a young mother of two with only a string of temporary jobs on her resume, Veronica realized she would need a college degree to find stable, long-term employment. She turned to Wake Tech to make that happen. “I felt that of all the community colleges, Wake Tech would be the most impressive on a resume – and provide the best education,” she says.

Veronica knew it would be challenging to go to college with two little ones at home, but Wake Tech’s online programs offered the flexibility she needed. She was able to complete the degree she wanted in Medical Office Administration, which she says could not have happened without the online option: “It would have been impossible for me to get to campus for classes,” she says, “Wake Tech’s online program was exactly what I needed!”  Wake Tech has one of the largest online programs in the state.

In her last semester, Veronica did start coming to campus – to work part time as a co-op student in the Business and Public Services Technologies Division, assisting in the Accounting Department. Now she can look for jobs with a resume that includes a college degree and work experience – and the confidence that comes from knowing she is well prepared for a rewarding career.
