Pathways Success Scholars

The Minority Male Success Initiative (MMSI) is a system-wide effort designed to enhance the educational success of all minority males enrolled in the North Carolina Community College System. Wake Tech is one of several community colleges participating in the MMSI. In line with this systemic initiative, Wake Tech's Pathways Success Scholars program's vision is to increase minority male student academic progression and program success rates through mentoring and exposure to academic, social and career-based activities and opportunities.

The program strives to be a brotherhood network, designed to support male students of color in their pursuit of higher education at Wake Tech through professional experiences and relevant programming. Student participants can expect to engage in on-campus personal and group success coaching, leadership development and other programming that promotes academic development and personal success.

Pathways participants also have access to priority registration for the Spring semester of their first year, book assistance, career exploration trips, an exclusive monthly newsletter, opportunities for educational conference travel and student leadership and a select group of faculty and staff allies on multiple campuses to help guide them on their path to success.
