The college is closed December 21 through January 1 for winter break and will reopen January 2. Prospective students can still apply for enrollment online during the break, and continuing students can register for Spring semester classes.
Emergency Medical Science (EMS) degree students will learn the practice of emergency medicine and will complete more than 600 hours of clinical in area hospitals and EMS agencies. At the end of the program, students will be eligible to take state or national paramedic credentialing exams.
The AAS program in accepts 30 students each August and takes five semesters to complete. EMS agencies from across the state recruit Wake Tech graduates, and many of our students have jobs before graduation.
The EMS program is designed around students' needs. All core classes are scheduled for two days per week, allowing students to plan clinical around their schedule. Students should be able to focus on their education when they are here and have plenty of time for work, child care and other responsibilities when they are not.
Wake Tech doesn't want you to put your life on hold and then worry about how you're going to make it all work. We realize that you have responsibilities, and we want to help you meet your goals as seamlessly as possible.
