Federal Work Study Interest Form

The Federal Work-Study program (FWS) provides on-campus and near-campus employment opportunities for eligible students. Students are limited to working no more than 20 hours per week.

To find out if you are eligible to participate, please complete this interest form below. Before completing this form, you should take these steps:

  1. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) by the specified deadline.
  2. Check your award status in Self-Service. A financial aid award offer must be made before we can determine your FWS eligibility. If you have not received an award offer, review your Self-Service account to make sure you have submitted all required documentation.
  3. In order to be considered, you must meet the following criteria:
    – A FAFSA® is required to determine financial need.
    – Be enrolled in 6 or more credit hours in a financial aid-eligible program of study
    – Meet the Satisfactory Academic Progress guidelines for federal financial aid

The FWS team will review your eligibility and will send a determination via your Wake Tech email with further details and instructions.

Submission of an interest form or an eligibility determination does not guarantee an offer of employment. Supervisors review applications, and an interview process determines hiring. All candidates selected for hire must successfully complete a background check and I-9 verification.
