The college is closed December 21 through January 1 for winter break and will reopen January 2. Prospective students can still apply for enrollment online during the break, and continuing students can register for Spring semester classes.
The Introduction to Automotive Certificate is designed to prepare the student for an entry-level position as an automotive technician. This course covers basic electrical and electronic systems, braking systems, diagnosis, repair and service of vehicle powertrain and related systems.
Topics include circuit construction and testing, operating principles of engines and transmissions and use of proper service procedures for safety and emissions inspection.
Upon successful completion, students will receive North Carolina state inspection licensure and be prepared as an entry-level automotive service technician.
