The Police Records Specialist Certificate prepares students to perform technical work in developing and validating law enforcement databases.
Course work includes the following:
Analysis of incident data
Preparation of special reports
Working with local, state and national law enforcement agencies on wanted and missing persons, stolen or recovered property and criminal history information
Entering files into the NCIC and DCI computer systems
Preparing clear, comprehensive reports from information obtained directly from officers or citizens

Tuition is set annually by the State Board of Community Colleges. Wake Tech charges various fees in addition to tuition, and individual programs also have specific costs associated with them.
