Wake Tech “Sports” A New Athletics Logo

RALEIGH, N.C. (September 5, 2014) - The Wake Tech Eagle has had a makeover! The college has unveiled a new logo for its athletics programs, designed by Wake Tech’s Creative Services team. The centerpiece of the logo is a “new and improved” image of Wake Tech’s mascot, Talon the Eagle, which shows more energy and spirit. It will be phased in beginning immediately.

"The new, updated image is a stronger, more iconic representation of our teams and our school spirit,” says Athletic Director Barry Street. “It is an investment in the future of our athletics program; it will set the direction for the next generation of Wake Tech Eagles.”

The athletics department also launched a new Facebook page to better connect with fans. The page will feature game schedules, scores, and other information about Wake Tech’s athletic teams. It can be found at www.facebook.com/WakeTechAthletics. The department also actively communicates via Twitter at www.twitter.com/WakeTechSports. Several coaches send out updates via their personal Twitter accounts.

Wake Tech is a member of the National Junior College Athletics Association (NJCAA), Division 2, Region X. Fall sports include soccer, volleyball, cross country, and basketball. The men’s basketball team earned a spot in the national tournament in March – and finished fourth in the nation!
