Scholarships and Resources

A variety of scholarships are available for qualified students interested in majoring in accounting at Wake Tech. The NCACPA Foundation, AICPA and others offer scholarship opportunities for minority students and for all students committed to the accounting profession. Each scholarship sponsor sets its own deadline for scholarship applications. Deadlines are rigidly enforced. Read the detailed information about each scholarship carefully.

NCACPA Foundation Scholarships

Each spring, the NCACPA Foundation awards approximately 40 merit-based scholarships to qualified accounting students in two- and four-year institutions throughout North Carolina.

Additional information and interactive application

NCACPA Minority Scholarship

The North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants (NCACPA) recognizes the extraordinary achievement, leadership and talent of minority students and offers scholarship opportunities through the NC CPA Foundation.

The competitive, merit-based scholarships are designed to reward and encourage the brightest and most talented minority accounting students by helping with tuition and paving the way for a future accounting career. The top award is $2,000, and subsequent awards are $1,000.

Scholarships are based on academic merit, extracurricular activities and a 500-word essay. The NC CPA Foundation and the Minority Action Committee encourage exceptional North Carolina minority accounting students to apply. The recipient of the top award will be recognized at NCACPA's annual meeting in May at the Grandover Resort & Conference Center, in Greensboro. Eligible applicants will receive a complimentary student membership in the association.

Additional information and downloadable application.

  • Two to students pursuing a two-year degree in accounting.
  • Five to students completing a two-year degree and pursuing a bachelor's degree in accounting at a four-year institution.

TACTYC awards scholarships annually to students who qualify, based on grade point average, credit hours completed, recommendations and a commitment to a career in accounting.

Applications can be found on the TACTYC website.
