Nursing is one of the most exciting and challenging professions in health care, and public polls show nurses are considered among the most trusted professionals. Wake Tech offers degree and non-degree options for training in the field, and all prepare students for relevant licensing exams.
The Martha Mann Smith School of Nursing at Wake Tech offers two options for students interested in becoming a nurse: the Associate Degree Nursing program and the Associate Degree Nursing – Advanced Placement program, which is designed for licensed practical nurses seeking to advance in the profession. The programs are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing.
Wake Tech also has a diploma program for Practical Nursing and non-degree programs for Nurse Aide – Nurse Aide 1, Nurse Aide 2 and a Nurse Aide 1 Refresher course – and Massage Therapy.
All programs are based on the Perry Health Sciences Campus, which is adjacent to WakeMed's flagship hospital in Raleigh. Please note that the Nursing and Practical Nursing programs use a competitive process for admission due to the large number of applications they receive.

Professional licensure
All Wake Tech academic programs that are designed to lead to professional licenses are tied to North Carolina or national certifications.
