In 2021, national research firm EMSI/Burning Glass conducted an in-depth analysis and found that the college has an annual impact of $1 billion on the local economy and supports nearly 14,000 jobs – one out of every 56 jobs in Wake County.

Here are some of the many findings from the analysis:

  • Wake Tech graduates earn $9,800 more per year than Wake County residents who have only a high school diploma.
  • For every dollar students invest in a Wake Tech education, they receive a cumulative value of $3.20 in higher future earnings.
  • For every dollar invested in Wake Tech, the community receives $7 in added income and social savings.
